1993

McArthurGlen is founded

McArthurGlen Group was founded in 1993 in Europe by the Kaempfer Partners

1995

We celebrate our first centre openings: Cheshire Oaks, UK, and Troyes, France
1998
North Entrance at York Designer Outlet

York, Bridgend and East Midlands open in the UK, and we enter the Austrian market with the opening of Parndorf

1999

Roubaix opens in France

2000

The opening of Serravalle marks the first ever designer outlet in Italy. Ashford opens in the UK

2001

Designer Outlet Roermond opens in the Netherlands

2003

Castel Romano opens near Rome in Italy

2008

Near Venice, Noventa di Piave opens in Italy

2009

Designer Outlet Salzburg opens in Austria

2010
La Reggia Designer Outlet

La Reggia opens in Naples, Italy

2012

Designer Outlet Neumünster opens in Germany

2013

McArthurGlen agrees a joint venture partnership

McArthurGlen becomes a joint venture between the Kaempfer Partners and Simon Property Group Co. (NYSE SPG), a global leader in the ownership of premier shopping, dining, entertainment and mixed-use destinations

2015

McArthurGlen enters the North American market with the opening of Designer Outlet Vancouver

2016

We acquire Designer Outlet Ochtrup in Germany

2017

We acquire Roosendaal in the Netherlands, and open Designer Outlet Provence in the south of France

2020

We open Màlaga, the first ever designer outlet in the south of Spain

Founded in 1993 by the Kaempfer partners, McArthurGlen opened Europe's first designer outlet, Cheshire Oaks, in 1995, followed by Troyes later that year - and has since continued to shape the designer outlet sector across Europe.

Today, our portfolio spans more than 600,000 square metres across 22 destinations in Austria, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, the UK and Canada.

In 2013, McArthurGlen became a joint venture between the Kaempfer Partners and Simon Property Group, Inc (NYSE: SPG), a global leader in premier shopping, dining, entertainment and mixed-use destinations.
